Judith A. Vogan's Obituary
Judy Vogan (nee Atthanasoff) age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2013, at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain.
Born to the late Dean and Gus Atthanasoff in Olympia, Washington, Judy grew up in Lorain, Ohio and made her residence in Amherst, Ohio with her family and recently moved to Elyria, Ohio. She was a graduate of Lorain High School and Lorain Community College.
An avid golfer, Judy was the Women’s first place winner of the 1988 Dupont World Amateur Handicap Championship Tournament.
Judy is survived by her children; James C. Mezatasta Jr., of Cleveland, Jackie Mezatasta, of Elyria, Jeffrey D. Vogan, of Avon and John E. Vogan, of Wilton Manors, Florida; grandchildren, Barbie Dalzell, Carl James Mezatasta, Gina Mezatasta, Derek Vogan, Steven Mezatasta, John Gabrielle Vogan and Lucas Vogan; sisters, Pam Schulin (nee Atthanasoff), of Amherst, Ohio and Lori Pasztor, of Amherst, Ohio; uncle, Chris Dokoff; cousin, Tina Heinzman; and her beloved pet, Little One.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Vogan; mother, Constance “Dean” Atthanasoff; father, August “Gus” Atthanasoff; maternal grandmother, Jenny Dokoff; maternal grandfather, Sotir Dokoff; paternal grandmother, Penelopy Atthanasoff; paternal grandfather, Steve Atthanasoff; aunts, Soph Dandalides and Mary Werbylo (nee Atthanasoff; and cousin, Dick Dandalides.
The Vogan family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing remarks and prayers will follow the visitation at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral center. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
