Judy O. Black's Obituary
Judy O. Black (nee Johnson), of Elyria, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, at UH Elyria Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on March 24, 1940, in Lorain, Ohio, Judy lived most of her life in Lorain and Elyria.
A proud graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1958, Judy dedicated many years of her career to York International, where she eventually retired. She also pursued a career as a real estate agent, working for various real estate companies in the area.
Judy was an active member of the community and enjoyed attending services at both Broadway Assembly and the House of Praise. She had a passion for reading, going to church, and visiting her family, making her rounds regularly to stay connected with loved ones. She also enjoyed going to her family members’ sporting events to cheer them on and provide encouragement.
Her warm presence and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her son Miland Black, Jr. of Elyria, her grandsons: Miland Black, III, and Michael Black both of Elyria, her brother Arthur (Beverly) Johnson of Lorain, her sister Roberta (David) Treadway of Brownhelm Township, her sister-in-law Debra Johnson of Brownhelm Township, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert, Sr. & Esther (nee Bement) Johnson, her husband Miland Black, Sr., her brothers: Franklin and Robert Johnson Jr. and Robert’s wife Arlene.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15th, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
