Julie Ann Osting's Obituary
Julie Ann Osting (née Dabrowski), 86, of Lorain, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, with her loving son by her side. She was born on June 8, 1939, in Lorain to the late George and Julia (née Sakowski) Dabrowski, Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Lorain.
Julie Ann was a 1957 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy and was crowned Queen of Lorain for the 125th anniversary of Lorain in 1959. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to service and education, having been employed at the Elyria Courthouse, the detention center, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary School (BVM), and St. Peter School, where she worked as a kindergarten and second-grade teacher’s aide. She also shared her creative talents by teaching ceramics for many years and was a devoted member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Nativity BVM.
A gifted cook and baker, Julie Ann was especially known for her nut and poppy seed rolls which she lovingly shared with friends during Easter and Christmas, along with an assortment of her homemade chocolates. These treasured traditions reflected her generous spirit. One of her favorite summer pastimes was fishing from her son’s boat on Lake Erie, treasured moments she held close to her heart.
She is survived by her loving son, Dr. Ralph G. Osting; her chosen granddaughter, Isabella Sams; her brother, George A. Dabrowski, Jr.; her niece, Laura Brogan (Jeremy); her nephew, George Dabrowski III (Stacy Brown); her great-nephews, Benjamin and Connor Brogan; her cousin Michael (Michelle) Popa, her sister-in-law Alice Margaret (Omer) Ricker; brothers-in-law, Carl (Theresa) Osting and George (Jackie) Osting, and many cherished cousins.
Besides her parents, Julie Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph M. Osting; her sisters-in-law Kay Dabrowski, Ruth Oen, and Sue Osting; and brothers-in-law Don Osting, Alvin Osting, and Joe Oen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Julie Ann’s memory to the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, 4108 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.
