Justino "Gino" Rodriguez's Obituary
Justino “Gino” Rodriguez, age 64, of Wellington, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Mercy Health- Allen Hospital after a sudden illness. Gino was born on February 9, 1954. He was the son of the Justino and Felicita Rodriguez.
Gino worked 45 years plus at U.S. Steel, Lorain Tubular, in Lorain, Ohio. Gino was respected and loved by all who met him; he never met a stranger. In his spare time Gino loved visiting Kentucky. He enjoyed boating and fishing out on Lake Cumberland. Words fall short in capturing Gino’s true essence; Gino was a quiet, gentle soul, who always wore a smile. His kindness and compassionate spirit was infectious to all. Most of all, Gino loved his family.
Gino is survived by his wife, Beverly (nee Dalton) of 40 years. Gino and Bev married on the 5th. of July in 1978. He is also survived by his two sons, Joseph (Carmen) Rodriguez, of Painesville, Ohio and Joshua (Amanda) Rodriguez, of Oberlin, Ohio; One daughter, Brittney Starkey (Brian Elder), of Wellington, Ohio.
Gino was the proud grandfather to eight grandkids: Jade Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez, Isaiah Rodriguez, Kayla Starkey, Briana Rodriguez, Adrien Rodriguez, Justin Starkey, Brian Elder. Gino had one great-granddaughter, Laurel Rodriguez.
Gino is survived by his brother, Nelson (Donna) Rodriguez, of Lorain, Ohio; two sisters, Rosie Arroyo, of Lorain, Ohio, and Norma Rodriguez, of Lorain, Ohio.
Gino is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Carmen Sanchez.
Gino will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a lifetime blood donor and was on his 11th. gallon of blood donated. In lieu of flowers, please give life, give blood.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, in Somerset, Kentucky. Interment will follow the service at Hollars Cemetery, in Broston, Kentucky.
