Karen Ientile's Obituary
Karen E. Ientile (nee Heiser), age 58, of Lorain, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on July 17, 1954 in Glendale, Arizona, Karen lived most of her life in Ohio. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1972.
Following a career opportunity, Karen moved to North Carolina, and worked for 6 years as a transportation scheduler for the public school system. She moved back to Lorain in 2011 for health reasons and to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Karen loved laughter, vacationing at the ocean, reading and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She believed in the goodness of others and was always the first to offer help and friendship to someone in need. Karen was a mother figure to many and one of those rare people who would make you feel comfortable and welcome in any setting or surrounding. She has made a difference in the lives of countless others. Karen leaves a legacy of love and compassion.
She is survived by Larry Ientile, of Elyria; her daughters, Tina (Mickey) Jackson, of Sheffield Lake, and DeAna Rodriguez, of Lorain; her grandsons, Alexander (Allison O'Connell) Wolford and Maxwell Wolford; her great-grandchildren, Connor Wolford and Rylee Wolford; her brothers, John (Dalyn) Heiser, of Akron, Mark (Judy Tomaro) Heiser, of Lorain and Neil (Molly) Heiser, of Oberlin; her sisters, Lillian (Miles) Nagaoka, of CA and Nina (Vincent) Ball, of Georgia; and her step-mother, Bonnie Heiser, of FL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Heiser and her mother, Mary Heiser.
The Ientile family invites friends to join them at a memorial gathering on Sunday, March 10th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 12:00 noon in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Harold Hylton will officiate. Refreshments will be served following the service.
The family requests memorial contributions in Karen's memory be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America or The Genesis House.
