Karen Lynne Puskavich's Obituary
Karen Lynne Puskavich, 66, of Lorain, Ohio, entered into Eternal Life on August 14, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was courageous and never let her illness define her.
Karen was born on February 23, 1957 in Man, West Virginia to Frowdie and Marilyn (nee Vanek) Counts. Karen and her parents later moved to Ohio. In Ohio, she would meet her future husband, John Puskavich, and they would marry on March 2, 1973.
Karen worked at Nordson Corporation for over thirty years and was an example to those around her of hard work, coupled with that of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired from Nordson in 2022.
The most central theme in Karen’s life was her love of family. As a mother of six and a grandmother of eight, she always placed the needs of her children and grandchildren ahead of her own. Moreover, Karen would always allow her home to be opened up to that of family and friends, which demonstrates her willingness to be there for others. Karen was a mom to everyone that came through her door. This includes all the animals who were accepted into her home, including her fur-baby Bonnie. Karen enjoyed going to country concerts with her daughters, but her greatest passion in life was having her family over at her house to be with and care for. She will be missed by many because she was loved by many.
She is survived by her children, Nikole (Anthony) Ramirez, Shannon (Charles) Fairchild, Melanie (Justin) Caputo, Matthew (Karissa) Puskavich, Kaitlin Puskavich, and Karen (Andrew) Perkins; grandchildren, Anthony Ramirez, Charles Fairchild, Cole Ramirez, Evan Caputo, Oscar Caputo, Oliver Puskavich, Zoey Puskavich, Bryson Webb, and Talon Shaw; She is also survived by her sisters, Sue (Rick) Wheeler, Carol (Larry) Moore, Brenda (Billy) Kerlin, and Denise Slusher.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John Puskavich, in 2016; her mother, Marilyn Counts, in 2012; her father, Frowdie Counts, in 2015; her brother, Chuck Counts, in 1995; her brother, Roy Counts, in 2020; and her precious grandbaby, Perkins, in 2023.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 CooperFoster Park Road, Amherst. A graveside service will be presided over by Rev. Father Joseph Scalco on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Calvary Cemetery, 555 North Ridge Road W., Lorain.
