Kathleen Kosash's Obituary
Kathleen’s family and her church were her passions, and they brought her much joy. As a founding and active member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and charter member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Kathleen volunteered countless hours at the church and school working card parties, baking nut rolls and noodles as a member of the Holy Rollers, coaching volleyball and always helping wherever she was needed. When her daughters entered high school, she devoted even more time as a member of the Lorain Catholic Mothers Club and Athletic Booster Club. She was at every sporting event her girls participated in, from elementary school to high school to college, always arriving with a variety of homemade snacks and treats for the entire team. In any remaining spare time, Kathleen enjoyed playing tennis, bridge with a wonderful group of friends, and gardening. After all that, her house was still spotless! Kathleen’s deep love and commitment to her family continued as she cared for her husband and both her parents in their final years. Of all of these, she saved her greatest love for her nine grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her daughters: Stephanie (Timothy) McNeeley of Toledo, Ohio, and their children, Christopher, Katherine, Margaret and Matthew; Christine (Robert) Novak of Coral Springs, Florida, and their sons, Eric, Brian and Kevin; Lisa Peterson of Newtown, Pennsylvania and her daughters Allison and Sydney. She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Polly) Finnegan Jr. of Florida and sister-in-law Rosemary Bennett of Vermillion.
She was preceded by her daughter Andrea, and her parents, Thomas and Ethel Finnegan.
She was preceded in death by Stephan, her husband of 57 years. Kathleen and Steve loved to travel. They always worked together as a team – from raising their daughters to building their home to volunteering.
