Kathleen Rangel's Obituary
Kathleen Rangel (nee Jacobs), age 73, of Lorain passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at University Hospital in Cleveland following a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Lorain, Kathleen was born on November 13, 1941 to the late Andrew and Catherine (nee Kalzewski) Jacobs. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1959.
For the past 31 years, Kathleen worked at First Federal Savings of Lorain as a receptionist, loan officer and teller. Prior to that, she worked for 12 years at the former U.S. Steel Credit Union (currently Lormet Credit Union) on East 28th Street in Lorain.
Kathleen was a member of Church of St. Peter in Lorain, where she volunteered counting the weekly collections. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lorain.
Giving of her time, Kathleen faithfully volunteered weekly at New Hospice since the early 1990’s. She enjoyed playing bingo, going camping and taking trips to casinos.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joseph; her sons, Joseph (Nanette), and Jeffery (Laurie), both of Amherst; grandchilden, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Williamson, Courtney, Jeffery, Holley, A.J. and Devon Rangel; great-granddaughter, Alexia Williamson; and her dear cousin, Patricia McCormack, of Lorain, as well as many other cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
