Kathy McCrann's Obituary
Kathy McCrann (née Scheiber) fell asleep in death on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on December 27, 1937, in Lorain, Ohio, to Ralford and Ann (née Guba) Scheiber.
After graduating from Lorain High School in 1955, Kathy began her career at the Lorain Telephone Company, where she worked diligently in many roles until her retirement in 2002. She was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and kindness.
Kathy found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to 1970s music, especially the Bee Gees and ELO, playing games on her tablet, and watching funny animal videos. However, the most important part of her life was her worship to Jehovah. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she loved studying the Bible and sharing her faith with others. Her warm heart, beautiful smile, and kind spirit made her beloved by all who knew her, and she was affectionately known as “Aunt Kathy” to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Jim McCrann, in 2021; her parents, Ralford and Ann Scheiber; and her sister, Dolores Rieth. With her marriage to Jim, she gained three stepsons, Paul, Pete, and Patrick, as well as seven grandchildren. Kathy leaves behind one nephew, Roy Rieth; four nieces, Debra Rieth, Kathy Yurkonis, Darlene Trent, and Amber Ray; and many great-nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2330 E. Skyline Drive, Lorain, OH 44053. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center. Online condolences may be shared at www.dovinreberjones.com.
