Kenneth Charles Rogal's Obituary
Kenneth Charles Rogal, of Henrietta, age 89, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
He was born in Lorain on May 26, 1929 to Julian and Bertha (nee Albrecht) Rogal. In 1946 Ken graduated from Marion L. Steel High School. He was a member of the United States Army, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he attended Ohio State University. After 25 years of service, Ken retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lorain, as a manager in the Quality Control Department.
Ken marched to his own beat in life. There was nothing more important to him than his family and home. Gardening, yard work, and building projects brought him pleasure. As a young man, Ken loved riding his Harley Davidson and in 1949 fulfilled his dream of a motorcycle and sidecar trip to California. Throughout his life he enjoyed all types of music, especially accordion and polka music, as well as books and antiques.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon L. (nee Teaman) Rogal. He will be dearly missed by his children; Leslie Gansen, of Green, OH and Erik Rogal, of Henrietta, and his grandsons; Drew Gansen, of Barberton, OH and Cooper Gansen, of Green, OH.
He was preceded in death by a newborn son, Ted, and his parents.
The family held private services and his burial was held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
In Ken’s memory, the family suggests contributions be made to a charity or organization that is dear to the donor.
