Kenneth Edward Williams' Obituary
Kenneth Edward Williams, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his home under the care of Crossroads Hospice.
He was born on May 8, 1929, in Lorain, Ohio, to Robert and Bessie (née Bonhill) Williams. Kenneth attended Lorain High School before proudly enlisting in the United States Army, where he was trained as a mechanic—a skill that would serve him throughout his life. Following his honorable discharge, he began a 25-year career with Standard Oil and later dedicated another 25 years to Amherst Hospital in maintenance. Kenneth was known for his strong work ethic and took great pride in everything he did.
Kenneth met the love of his life, Doris, in a story he cherished—he was an usher, and she was a maid of honor in a friend’s wedding. It was love at first sight, and together they shared a beautiful marriage spanning 71 years.
He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and, quietly, a Green Bay Packers supporter. Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, skillfully crafting pieces that Doris would lovingly finish with her well-known tole painting. Gifted with the ability to fix nearly anything, he took meticulous care of his home and lawn well into his 90s.
A devoted family man, Kenneth coached his sons in baseball and faithfully attended his daughter’s softball games. He instilled in his family a love of travel, with many cherished memories made while camping together. Above all, he loved his family deeply and placed them at the center of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris; daughter, Doreen (Richard) Kuster; sons, Keith (Melanie) Williams and Kevin (JoEllen) Williams; grandchildren, Sean (Dia) Williams, Trisha Williams, Catherine Williams, Emily Williams, and Matthew (Margaret) Williams; great-grandchildren, Camden, Carlito, Brittnei, Courtney Jean, Kevin, and Nikolai; and great-great-grandson, Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bessie Williams, and his brothers, Richard, Dean, and Ronald.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
