Kevin M. Waters' Obituary
Kevin M. Waters, age 56, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at New Life Hospice Residential Center following a brief illness.
Born on December 1, 1958 in Lorain, he graduated from Lorain High School in 1977. For the past 12 years, he resided in Amherst.
Since 2012, Kevin worked at P.C. Campana, most recently as a maintenance supervisor. Prior to that, he worked 11 years with Elliott-Lewis Corporation doing plumbing and maintenance at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Having many years in the plumbing industry, he also worked for various local companies such as Dick Esser Plumbing, Gross Plumbing and LMHA (Lorain Metropolitan Housing Association). Right out of high school, he began his career at US Steel and worked there for 5 years.
Kevin thoroughly enjoyed doing things for other people and was known for performing many random acts of kindness. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, always welcoming friends and family over to his home for gatherings. Kevin also liked to go fishing and boating, and through the years, he participated in several fishing tournaments to raise money for cancer. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending time with his two rescue puppies, Nina and Chance.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy (nee Barnicle); his mother, Diana Waters (nee Moir), of Lorain; his brothers, Larry (Barb), and Keith (Stephanie), both of Lorain; his sisters, Linda (Jim) Kennedy, of Cochranton, PA and Lisa (Paul) Miller, of Wellington; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William in 1974; his mother in law, Sylvia Barnicle-Hambly ; his father in law, Donald Barnicle and his sister in law, Connie Barnicle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Christopher Robinson, Chaplain with Mercy New Life Hospice, will officiate. Private burial will be held at a later date.
