LaJune F. Nau's Obituary
LaJune F. Nau (nee Schneider), age 92, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at the 1907 at Central School Assisted Living Facility, in Amherst. Born on March 1, 1932, in Lorain, she was a lifelong resident of Lorain County and was a proud 1950 graduate of Lorain High School.
LaJune spent her working years in sales for several local businesses, including JC Penney, Rite-Nau Beverage, Macarvel’s Jewelry, selling Avon products and was co-owner of Heartful Designs. However, her true joy came from her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she dedicated her time to them with warmth and devotion.
A longtime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, LaJune enjoyed contributing to the church community, particularly by baking delicious pumpkin rolls for their fundraisers. She also gave of her time and talents to serve dinners at various food banks and to make quilts for the ill.
LaJune had many hobbies that she cherished, including gardening, cross-stitching, traveling and floral arranging. She was a member of several social groups, including the HiJenks group, Circle 6, Eagles, VFW, and Moose Lodge, card clubs and a sorority, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of friends.
She is survived by her beloved children, Patricia Logar, of Amherst, Dale Nau, of Lorain, Carl (Debbie) Nau, of Lorain and Diane (Carl) Baker, of Huron, OH; grandchildren, Chris (Andrea) Baker, Carl Baker, Crystal Slack and George (Mari) Logar; and her great grandchildren, Sydnie Baker, Cody Baker, Chase Baker, Calli Baker, Alexis Cheers, Joshua Logar and Sofie Logar.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Carl C. Nau, parents, George & Florence (nee Gildenmeister) Schneider, brother Gordon Frey, sister-in-law Ione Frey, grandson Dustin Slack, great grandson C.J. Baker and son-in-law Chuck Logar.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
