Larry Dean Cline's Obituary
Larry Dean Cline, 80, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Independence Village in Avon Lake.
He was born on November 13, 1945, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to Richard and Frances (nee Smith) Cline. Larry was a graduate of East Liverpool High School and continued his education at Baldwin Wallace College, where he played basketball while earning his Bachelor of Science Degree. He later received his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Akron.
Larry devoted his life and career to education. He taught at Northwood Junior High School for 35 years before retiring in 1996. He was a dedicated educator who cared deeply for his students and colleagues.
Above all else, Larry cherished spending time with his beloved wife of 52 years, Jane (nee Yaneris) Cline. He was an avid baseball fan who enjoyed both playing and coaching the game and remained a lifelong supporter of the New York Yankees. Larry also loved the outdoors and took great pride in tending to his garden. Always active, he rarely sat still and could often be found working in his yard or riding his bicycle around the neighborhood.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Cline; and his son, Michael Cline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances Cline; and his brothers, Ronald and Wayne Cline.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Private interment will take place at a later date.
