Larry Reynolds' Obituary
Larry R. Reynolds, age 63, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.
Born on May 28, 1947 in Pikeville, Kentucky, to the late James and Lassie (nee Charles) Reynolds, he came to Lorain in 1974 and has resided here ever since.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in Germany as a medic.
Larry worked as a supervisor at the Elyria Foundry for 14 years, retiring in 2003.
He attended Beacon Baptist Church in Lorain. He enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races, fishing and shooting pool and playing golf. His greatest joy was found in the moments he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Babette “Barb”, (nee Stewart), his daughters, Tamara (Robert) Igoe, Lynna Donofrio, Tara Reynolds, all of Lorain; Tonya Atwood (nee Jones) of Clayton, MI and Tracey (Kevin) Vess (nee Blanden), of Roanoke, VA; his sons, Nathaniel, at home, Craig (Krystal) Jones, of Clayton, MI and Marc (Angela) Blanden, of Lorain; 21 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; his brothers, Charles (Celeste), of Fayette, OH, Donald (Maxine) and Jerry (Bonnie) both of Wauseon, OH and Greg (Peggy), of Ashcamp, KY; and his sisters, Margaret “Helen” (Robert) Bates, of Wauseon, OH and Louella (James) Fields, of Fayette, OH.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Billy James Reynolds, in 1936.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Dean Van Farowe of Calvary Reformed Church in Cleveland will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
