Laura J. Kish's Obituary
Laura J. Kish (nee Stockard), age 87, of Lorain passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014.
She was born on November 16, 1926 in Lorain, Ohio to Leo and Anna (nee Felt) Stockard and graduated from Avon High School.
Laura made her career as a secretary for Ford Motor Company for over 20 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain. Her great love in life was her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, boating and traveling.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy R. (Cathy) Kish, of Texas and Terry J. Kish, of Lorain; daughter, Karen M. Kish, of Rocky River; grandchildren, Lauren (Charles) Ellis, Cameron Kish, Ryan (Jillian) Kish, Brandon Kish and Halle Kish; great-grandson, Cole Ellis; brothers, Tom Stockard, of Avon, Herbert Stockard, of Avon, Jacob Stockard, of Avon and Bill Stockard, of Avon; sisters, Marcella Smith, of Avon Lake, Margaret Stockard, of Avon Lake, and Anna Mae Stockard, of Westlake.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert S. Kish; and brothers, Leo and Jim Stockard.
The Kish family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Laura to the Church of St. Peter.
