Lawrence P Reber's Obituary
Lawrence P. "Larry" Reber, age 74, a lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness.
Larry was born on August 21, 1937 in Lorain to Peter and Vera (nee Balcik) Reber. He was a 1955 graduate of Lorain High School.
He was employed by U.S. Steel in the accounting department , retiring in 2004 after 46 years of service. He also served as Union President at U.S. Steel for seven years.
He was a Parishioner of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Larry was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Browns. He was a season ticket holder for many years and never missed a game. He also loved The Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his brother, Dennis Reber, of Lorain; nephews and nieces ; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Vera (nee Balcik) Reber; brother, Keith Reber; and sister-in-law, Linda Reber.
The Reber family will receive family and friends on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing Prayers will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. in the Funeral Center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 W. 7th. Street, Lorain. Rev. Fr. James Becherer, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
