Dr. Lee Dillinger's Obituary
Dr. Lee Dillinger, age 92, of Lorain, formerly of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain. He was born on February 11, 1926 in Alger, Ohio. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University where he was the valedictorian of his class. He was employed at Battelle Memorial Institute for 23 years, and Leco Corp where he was the manager of the metallurgic lab and taught classes. In 1993 Lee acquired his Doctorate in Metallurgy. Through the years, Lee won many awards for his photomicrographs and has authored and co-authored many books.
He will be missed dearly by his children; Gregory (Phyllis)Dillinger, of Leesville, SC, Rustin Dillinger, of Irmo, SC, Kimberly (Timothy) Conner, of Senecaville, OH, and Tracy (Carl) Ondraka, of Amherst, his 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous half-brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Patricia (nee Founds) Dillinger, in 2013, and his parents; Tobe and Imogene (nee Smith) Dillinger.
