Leonard Yacobozzi's Obituary
Leonard A. Yacobozzi, 56, died suddenly at his home in Tampa, Florida on September 19, 2009. He was born in Lorain, Ohio on January 13, 1953, to Enio and Hazel (Deidrick) Yacobozzi, formerly of Amherst, Ohio now residing in Hilliard, Ohio. He attended St. Stanislaus School and graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in 1971. He attended The Ohio State University, the Berklee College of Music in Boston and graduated from Boston University. He was a well-known drummer throughout the greater Cleveland area as a child and young adult. He was employed by Walgreen Option Care as an account manager for the past several years. "Lenny" had a phenomenal sense of humor and was always ready with a joke to make people laugh. He worked hard, was devoted to his children and family and cared deeply about traditional values and love of country.
He is survived by his two children, the joy and focus of his life, Rocco and Rachel of Tampa; his loving and devoted parents; sisters, Kathleen A. Cassandra, Powell, Ohio; Lori A. (William) Dulin, Columbus, Ohio; nieces, Meghan E (fiance, Thomas Travis) Petrella, Dublin, Ohio; Meredith E. Cassandra, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Molly E. (Kevin) Cassandra-Cox, Seattle, Wa.; and nephew, Michael E. Cassandra, Dublin, Ohio; great-nephew, Giuseppe A. Petrella; two great-nieces, Lucy M. Cassandra and baby "Josie" Cox. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Vince and Anne Yacobozzi of Amherst, Ohio; Timo and Nancy Yacobozzi of Griffith, Indiana; cousins and many friends around the country including very special friend, Eva Hoffman.
Friends and family are welcome to visit at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral Home, 1110 Cooper-Foster Park Rd. Amherst on Friday, September 25 from 1-8 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 am followed at 11:00 am by a Celebration of Life Mass at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations on behalf of Len's children.
