Lillian Hastings' Obituary
Lillian Hastings (nee Gentile), age 87, of Elyria, passed away at Avon Oaks Skilled Nursing Facility, Avon, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
She was born on April 19, 1935 in Lorain, where she lived a majority of her life and is a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1954B. Lillian worked for the Amherst Township Zoning Board of Appeals from 1990 until 1995. She also worked for the Board of Elections as a poll worker for 25 years. Lillian was a devoted member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in South Amherst, and enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
Lillian is survived by her children, Paula Jo (Tom) Kish, Jr., Darlene (Scott) Orosz, and Todd Hastings; grandchildren, Deana Kish, Kerri (Kyle) Barberic, Hallie Orosz, Lisa (Chris) Patton, and Todd Logan Hastings; and her 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dean L.; parents, Joseph and Pauline Gentile, and her brother, Joseph C. Gentile.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 12-3 pm at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Friends will also be received on Monday, March 6, 2023, for her Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:30 am, at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 333 South Lake Street, South Amherst, OH 44001. Everyone is to meet at church please. Rev. Fr. Timothy J. O’Connor, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will then follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
