Lillian McQuate's Obituary
Lillian McQuate (nee Trigilio), 86, of Lorain, OH passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on December 28th, 2020.
Lillian was born on July 13, 1934, to Sebastiano and Lillian Trigilio of Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1952. After marrying Glenn McQuate in 1954, her family lived for many years in Vienna, West Virginia until she moved back to Lorain in 1988. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish of Lorain where she sang in the choir for many years.
Lillian was a wonderful homemaker who was passionate about taking care of her husband and children and cooking for family and friends. Lillian never missed a party; she enjoyed playing Bingo and always looked forward to her monthly “club” gathering that was certain to break out in a friendly poker game with her dear high school friends.
Lillian will be greatly missed by her children: Glenn McQuate (Kim) of Abingdon, VA, Jill Crouch (Charlie) of Lexington, KY, Laura Coyne (Mike) of Lakewood, OH, Sharon Godlewski (Mike) of Amherst, OH and Nancy Baranski (Craig) of Wheeling, WV.
Lillian was the loving grandmother of William McQuate (Mary), Megan Bayley (Rob), Alison DeRatt (Alan), Matthew Coyne (Cait), Mitchell and Abby Baranski, Ryan Godlewski and Lily Crouch, and she treasured her three great grandchildren: Ella Bayley, Ryder DeRatt and Coleman Coyne. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Frances Trigilio, Mary Ann McQuate and Carlyne McQuate, all of Lorain, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Alan McQuate who passed away in 1984 and her 5 siblings: Fannie Campisi, Tom Trigilio, Carl Trigilio, Dorothy Dembek and Nina Poprock.
The family would like to thank Sharon, Mike and Ryan Godlewski for the love, special care and comfort of their home that they provided Lillian in her final days.
