Linda Bennett Ivan's Obituary
Linda Fries Bennett Ivan, age 60, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 16, 1952 in Lorain, Ohio and was a 1970 graduate of Brookside High School.
Linda was employed by Lowe's in Elyria as a Head Cashier for the past 6 years.
Linda enjoyed riding with her husband, John on his Harley and going to a variety of motorcycle events. She had a love of reading and once she would finish a book she would start another one. Music, bowling and taking walks along the beach to collect sea shells brought her much pleasure. She was also a collector of angels.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, John Ivan Jr.; son, Jeremy Bennett, of Lorain; daughter, Charity (Christopher) King, of Newport, NC; step-children, Jamie(Debbie Tomecko) Ivan, Jeff York, Andrea Cabrera, Alisha Ely and Herb Bennett Jr.; grandchildren, Cameron King, Destiny King, Christina lee King, Mariah King, Christopher King Jr., and Jeremiah King; step-grandchildren, Haley Ivan, Amber Ivan, Lindsay Ivan, Tanis York and Cameron York; brother, Raymond (Janice) Fries, of Lorain; sister, Sandra (Peter) Rieckmann, of Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law, Becky Fries and Donna (John) Wagner; brother-in-law, Alan (Delores) Ivan; nieces and nephews, Vincent Fries, Danielle Rieckmann, Derek Rieckmann, Sarina Fries, Jason Fries, Alan Ivan Jr. and many others.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Fries; mother, Ann Thwaite; step-father, Ed Thwaite and brother, Daniel Fries.
The family will receive family and friends on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Center. Deacon Robert Dybo, of Nativity BVM Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggest donations be made in her memory to the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center, 9500 Euclid Ave. Clevenad, OH 44195.
