Linda J. Fazio's Obituary
Linda J. Fazio (nee Satterfield), age 77, of Amherst, passed away unexpectedly, but with her family by her side, at Metro Health, Cleveland, on Monday, June 12, 2023.
She was born on July 20, 1945, in Shinnston, WV but lived most of her life in Lorain. She was a member of Nativity of the BVM in South Amherst, as well as St. Joseph’s in Amherst, and enjoyed attending mass at both churches. Linda’s life-long career was working in medical records for New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.
When anyone was asked what Linda’s favorite hobby was, the first answer, without thought, was gambling! What fulfilled her heart, soul and made her happiest though were her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Her heart also belonged to her cat, Emerald, with whom she was always snuggling. Linda was a phenomenal cook who took great pride in feeding everyone and anyone who stopped by her house, even if they weren't hungry or had already eaten. She could also be found watching her birds at the birdfeeders in her yard.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Rector, of Elyria, Amy (Eric) Morgan, of Elyria, Big Tom (Kendra) Kolesar, of Lorain, and Melanie (Wilson) McKinney, of Amherst; step-son, Luke Fazio, of Lorain; grandchildren, Aaron Rector, Matt Rector, Tate (Danielle) Morgan, Quinn Morgan, Harper Morgan, Dane Morgan, Tommy Kolesar, Kali Kolesar, Tegen Kolesar, Genna McKinney, Emma McKinney, and step-granddaughter, Kayleigh (Matthew) Fazio-Kusznir; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Rector, Esmé Morgan, and Mackenzie Morgan; siblings, Jim (Jennie) Satterfield, Helen Cheuvront and Janice Lemons.
Sadly, Linda lost her oldest grandson, Danny Rector, Jr. exactly one year ago, on June 12th, 2022. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Kolesar, second husband, John Fazio and her parents, Archie & Vina Marie (nee Ashcraft) Satterfield.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19th, 2023 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held at 12:30 pm in the funeral center then her Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. To send an online condolence, please visit www.dovinreberjones.com.
