Linda Jean McGuigan's Obituary
Linda J. McGuigan, age 73, of Lorain passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her home.
She was born on March 27, 1943 in West Virginia to Harold and Lillian Irene (nee Fortner) Honaker. Linda was a homemaker who loved animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed spending her time playing cards with her family and friends, video poker on her ipad, and watching old black and white movies on the Turner Classic Movie Channel. She was an avid Green Bay Packers and New York Yankee fan. Above all her greatest love was the love she had for her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her children, Melody (Ed) Guggenbiller, of Lorain, Tim (Monica) McGuigan, of Lorain, Kimberly (Bud Samples) Horinek, of North Carolina, and Shelly (James Schueller) McGuigan, of Lorain; step-son, Jackie (Johanna) McGuigan, of Cape Cod, MA; grandchildren, Brandon, Eddie, Brittany, Darerian, Sean, Kelsey, Kady, Brandy, Sam, Bradley, Morgan, Lexy and Kody; great-grandmother of Mylah and Kaydon; siblings, Robert (Jodi) Honaker, Denise (John) Boots, Mickey Honaker, Debra Lambert, and Janet Honaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jerry” McGuigan; parents, Harold and Lillian Honaker; brothers, Harold “Sonny” Honaker, and Gordon “Mac” Honaker; and her sisters, Novella Wirt and Edna Hazelwood.
The McGuigan family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Linda to the Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035
