Lona H. Trelay's Obituary
Lona H. Trelay, age 93, of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, Avon.
She was born on March 29, 1929 in Lorain, where she lived her entire life and is a graduate of Lorain High School. For over 40 years she was an office manager at the former US Steel Corporation Lorain Works Credit Union, Inc. (currently LorMet Credit Union.) Lona was also a devoted member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church. She proudly dedicated her time and good heart to the Altrusa International club, where she even held a position as an officer at one point. Lona loved vacationing and traveling, not just within the United States, but also to Europe. She also enjoyed reading all the way up to when she couldn’t see any longer.
Lona is survived by her nieces and nephew, Nancy Berki, Joseph (Sharyn) Berki, and Julie Trelay. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews as well as her great great nephew.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Trelay; sisters, Elvira Berki and Irma Sudomier, and her parents, Julius and Elvira (nee Horvath) Trelay.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 am in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
