Lorena Lewis' Obituary
Lorena Lewis (nee Knight), age 78, of Lorain, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home, on January 19, 2024.
She was born on March 31, 1945 in Sutton, West Virginia where she grew up. She and her late husband, Jearld, met at a young age and ended up being the fairytale of childhood sweethearts. Ever since then they have been inseparable, even to the point of working side by side at the rest stop off of Route 2, in Vermilion. Her husband, children and grandchildren meant the world to her. When her children were young she was a proud stay-at-home mom. And when she could get out, she loved going shopping. Lorena was a member of the Christian Life Church in Lorain.
She is survived by her children, Randy (Diane) Lewis, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lisa Lewis, of Lorain and Julie (Larry Gornall) Lewis, of Lorain; grandchildren, Thomas, Anthony and Aleesa; sisters, Ruth Gross, of W. VA, Lucille Justice, of Akron and Violet Marcum, of Akron; and a brother, Walter Knight, of W. VA.
Lorena was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Jearld in 2017; parents, Mack & Lena (nee Wilson) Knight; stepmother, Elsie; and siblings, Evalee, Edna, Elmer, James, Betty and Goldie.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. To send an online condolence, please visit www.dovinreberjones.com.
