Loxie L. "Sis" Corbett's Obituary
Loxie L. “Sis” Corbett (nee McComb), age 81, of Elyria, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016, at Amherst Manor.
She was born on January 23, 1935, in Hot Springs, VA and moved here in 1954. Once she retired, she moved to Virginia, then to Mississippi, before finally returning to here. “Sis” loved tending to her home and family. She also enjoyed working out in the yard and caring for her flowers and her garden, and visiting the casinos.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Lucius E. “Bert” Corbett, her daughter, Lynn (John) Nardelli, of Amherst, a sister, Margaret Underwood, of Marlington, WVA, and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; George and Christina (nee Webb) McComb, her brothers; Arnold and James McComb, and a sister, Martha.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 19, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where her funeral service will be held on Friday, at 11:00 AM. Christopher Robinson, Chaplain with New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
