Lucilla S. Ortiz's Obituary
Lucilla “Lucy” S. Ortiz, age 73, of Lorain, passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Mercy New Life Hospice, on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Born on July 15, 1951 in Coamo, Puerto Rico, Lucilla came to Lorain in the early 1960’s. She enjoyed listening to music, sitting outside during the summer months and going out for car rides.
She is survived by her brothers, Luis (Blanca) Ortiz and William (Teresa) Marrero, both of Lorain; her sisters, Concepion “Maria” (Hector) Rodriguez, of Huron and Elizabeth Rodriguez Ortiz, of Coamo, PR. Lucy is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Higino & Isabel (nee Santiago) Ortiz; a brother, Jose C. Ortiz; a sister, Justina Lopez (nee Ortiz); and an ex-sister-in-law, Doris Reyes Ortiz.
Friends are invited to join Lucy’s family for her graveside service on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 at 9:30 am at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Please meet at entrance of the cemetery so that everyone will be in the procession to her grave at 9:30 am.
