Madio M. "Rocky" Rossini's Obituary
Madio “Rocky” M. Rossini, a United States Army Veteran, age 83, of Vermilion passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at his home. He was born on May 25, 1938 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Madio and Victoria (nee Biscaro) Rossini.
Rocky was a 1956 graduate of Dillonville High School and furthered his education at Lorain County Community College earning his Associates Degree in applied business and general management while working at Ford Motor Company. and the Vermilion Police Department
He then went on to work as a Mortgage Officer at Central Trust Company, before becoming a Vice President as Lorain County Title Company. He finished his career as general manager of Amherst Lumber and Star Builders.
Horses were both a hobby and passion for Rocky. He was an authority in the Azraff-Ferzon and Crabbet Arabian circles. He and his wife Pat were the owners of Pat-Rock Arabian Farm in Vermilion, where they bred and raised Arabian horses for over 60 years.
Rocky was an avid member of both the Arabian Horse and the Crabbet Associations. He was involved in the Elyria Elks, Ohio Lumberman’s Association, and Lorain County Home Builders Association where he served as Executive Officer, Secretary, and Program Chairman to the Annual Home Show at Midway Mall. He served on the Lorain County Community College Board of Trustees, as the first graduate of the college to serve on the Board. He was a Councilman for the City of Vermilion, a member of the Elyria Chamber of Commerce serving on the Red Coat Committee, and a member of the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; sons, Michael Madio (Carolyn) Rossini, Olmsted Township, and Matthew (Regina) Rossini, Houston; grandchildren, Hannah, Mila, Nicholas Madio, and Amanda; and brother, Elmer (Maryanne) Rossini, Chicago.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH 44053. Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
