With the deepest and heart felt condolences. We are so close and yet so far away. We had plans since last summer to drive to Lorain and visit you and Manuel and it was only not to stress you, Georgina, that we did not make the trip. I know that you will miss Manny and hope that knowing that he is in a better place were he will have his memories and remember everyone will give you some comfort.
We will drive to Lorain and see you soon. We will call and let you know when.

To the Morales family my 2nd family, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your father/husband. How blessed were we (the Martinez family) when my parents moved into the house on 32nd St. Your dad welcomed us with open arms, ever since that day we became family. Your father will be greatly missed; he was like a second father to my brothers and me. Many great memories we’ve had with your family, from zoo trips to the lake, and the awesome house parties that were all arranged from Don Meno! The originals from 32nd St. have showed us how important and valuable familia is! We are blessed in being able to carry on those traditions to our own children. I love you all! How we are going to miss that beautiful smile. The last time I was there, Meno always had a way of trying to walk away from the house because of the alzheimers. Georgina says,
"Titi, can you please go and get him for me?" I ran up to him and said, " Meno, Georgina didn't give me any coffe", and he said, " Oh, no, let's go take care of that." He had a heart of gold, and if you ever needed any advice, he was like our father. The Lord has opened up the gates of heaven for one of his most precious angels that walked this earth. We are going to miss him. Titi, and the rest of the Velez family. (Lydia, Cheo, Margie, Susi, Migdalia, Honey, and Jr.)

I have known "Menjo" Manuel since we moved from Puerto Rico to Lorain Ohio in 1955. He was a very close friend of my father Carmelo Bermudez and Rosario Gerena. Our family and his were very closed. He was my father's compadre and good friend.
I have great memories of him taking us to so many places in his car.
I'm sorry for your loss. I will keep him and the family in my prayers.
