Margaret Randolph Atkinson's Obituary
Margaret Randolph Atkinson, age 93, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Westlake, Ohio. She was born on January 6, 1929, in Petersburg, Virginia, to the late Hester (Harper) and Samuel Harris, Sr.
She attended Peabody High School in Petersburgh, VA, where she was a majorette and played on the girls’ basketball team. Margaret was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. She worked as a supervisor at the May Company in Sheffield Township until her retirement in 2007. Margaret was dedicated to her children and raised them all to be strong, independent, and proud to be Atkinson. There will never be another mother like her; She will be missed by all who knew her. But none more than her children, who adored her.
Margaret was preceded in eternal rest by her husband of 63 years, Robert Atkinson, Sr., and four sisters, Mattie Starke, Mary Kirkham, Eloise Fitzgerald, Jean Pegram, and one brother, Samuel Harris Jr, as well as her stepdaughter Fannie Edwards. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memories one daughter; Cecilia Atkinson Robinson of Charlotte, NC (Benjamin), and five sons; Anthony Atkinson of Lorain, OH (Carmen), Santo Atkinson of Finley, OH (Laverne), Terry Atkinson of Winterhaven, FL (Karen), Mario Atkinson of Austin, TX, Robert Atkinson, Jr of Lorain, OH (Helena), a total of 16 grandchildren: Lisse, Anthony, Marcus, Xavier, Vanessa, Abraham, Jerrid, Sameda, Terrance, Sydney Atkinson, Bailey, Sydney Robinson, Sophia, Cecilia, Mia, and Jackie, in addition, step-grandchildren Darren Edwards (deceased), Dessie “Neal” Edwards, Brian Edwards, and Jason Jimmerson, and many great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews--whom she loved.

Family and Friends will be received on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Father William Thaden will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
