Margaret E. Lavish's Obituary
Margaret E. Lavish (nee Izold), age 91, of Amherst passed away peacefully and joined her beloved husband and the Lord on Monday, December 17, 2018.
She was born on February 19, 1927 in Amherst, Ohio, where she pretty much lived her entire life and was a graduate of Elyria High School. Margaret was an extremely active and devote member of St. Joseph’s Church, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Just as she was active with her church, she was also active and took great interest in St. Joseph’s School. Margaret worked at Amherst Hospital for 20 years, where she carried out various administrative duties before retiring from there. Prior to working at the hospital, she worked for Mayor Jaworski as his assistant and secretary for one of his terms.
Margaret was an all-around fantastic mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who also happened to be a great cook, baker, quilter, and enjoyed to sew. She would travel to stay with her family that lived out of state, sometimes staying for months at a time. Margaret also enjoyed coordinating trips for the Amherst SCOA.
She is going to be dearly missed by her children; Lesley (Jeffery) Howells, of Amherst, Christine (Chuck) Eberhardt, of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Raymond D., Jr. (Lois) Lavish, of Gaston, OR, her grandchildren; Beth (Aaron) Revennaugh, Jackie Stillwagon (Scott Urig), Nicole (Dan) Pelner, Will (Hannah) Lavish, and her great grandchildren; Logan & Maris Lavish and Charlie & Jake Pelner. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Raymond D. Lavish, in 2013, her parents, Joseph and Julie Izold, and all 5 of her siblings.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 21, from 4 – 8 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A Memorial Mass for both Margaret and Raymond, will be on Saturday, December 22, at 9:00 am., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Rev. Fr.
