Margaret Yvonne Reddy's Obituary
Margaret Yvonne Reddy (nee Derickson) of Huron, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Norwalk Memorial Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 7, 1930 in Murphysboro, Illinois to Amos and Mabel (nee Mileur) Derickson and graduated from Houghton High School in Houghton, Michigan in 1948.
Margaret made her life as homemaker and volunteered her time at Catholic Social Services, serving meals and visiting with the homebound and nursing home patients. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Huron and a former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed reading and was known for her quick wit. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Alfred Reddy Jr.; children, Ron (Maureen) Reddy, of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Rona (Michael) Vagrosky, of Lorain, David (Ashlee) Reddy, of Elyria, Karen (Archie) Cole, of Norwalk, and John (Beverly Brake), of Brunswick; grandchildren, Eric Wacker, Yvonne Reddy, Lou Reddy, Jessie Filer, Denny Cole, Kyle Reddy, John Reddy, Jackson Reddy, and Addilyn Reddy; brother, Louis (Nancy) Derickson, of St. George, Utah; and beloved cousin, Jerome Mileur.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Mabel Derickson.
The Reddy family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:45 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH where a closing prayer will be said at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, OH. Rev. Fr. Jeffrey McBeth, Pastor, will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Margaret to Catholic Charities or the American Heart Association.
