Marilyn Counts' Obituary
Marilyn L. Counts (nee Vanek), age 78, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Fairview Hospital, Cleveland, following a lengthy illness.
Born on September 14, 1934 in Cleveland, Marilyn was a "Jack of All Trades", working hard as a school bus driver, waitress and homemaker.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, sewing, cooking, shopping and the outdoors. Always a Fashionsista, she had more hats, shoes, jewelry and purses than she knew what to do with. She was full of life, love and spunk. Her smile could light up a dimly lit room and the sound of her laughter cure a multitude of ills.
Left behind to mourn are her husband, Frowdie Counts of LaGrange; her daughters and son, Marilyn (Rick) Wheeler, of Lorain, Carolyn (Larry) Moore, of Lorain, Karen (John) Puskavich, of Lorain, Millard Roy Counts, of Lorain, Brenda (William) Kerlin, of LaGrange, and Denise (Dean) Slusher, of Grafton, 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sharon Hodge, of Lorain, Katie Gillespie, of Sheffield Lake; and her brothers, Dale Vanek, of Oberlin, Bobby Vanek, of Elyria, and Charles Vanek, of Vermilion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Evelyn (nee Johnson) Vanek; her sister, Linda Christian and her son Chuck Counts.
The Counts Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Mark Hebebrand, of House of Praise International Church and Marilyn's grandson, Brandon Carter, will co-officiate.
