Marion H. Chambers' Obituary
Marion H. "Boogieman" Chambers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and talented musician, passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 62, at his home in Lorain, Ohio, while under the compassionate care of New Life Hospice.
Marion was born on April 11, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, to James and Shirley Chambers (nee Lethco). He graduated from Brookside High School in 1979.
For two decades, Marion dedicated his professional life to First Student, serving in various capacities including Supervisor, Safety Coordinator, Training, and Hiring Manager. His commitment to his work and his colleagues was unwavering, and he earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Marion cherished his time in the great outdoors. Whether grilling, exploring nature, or enjoying a scenic drive, he found solace and joy in the beauty of the world around him. Marion was also a skilled woodworker, creating intricate pieces that showcased his craftsmanship and creativity.
Indulging in his favorite treats, Marion found simple pleasures in chocolate ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. Yet, above all, his greatest source of happiness was his family. Marion was a devoted husband, placing his wife at the center of his life and cherishing every moment spent together. He held a deep love for his children and grandchildren, and his presence in their lives was a constant source of love, support, and guidance.
Marion's passion for music was a defining aspect of his life. With a guitar in hand, he captivated audiences with his talent, often composing his own music. He was a member of several bands, sharing his passion and creativity with others. His mastery of the guitar and his ability to weave melodies spoke to the depths of his soul.
Marion leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a caring father, a doting grandfather, and a talented musician. His warm smile, and compassionate nature touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Marion's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his daughters, Sara Chambers Rider, of Lorain, Jackie Marrero Chambers, of Lorain, Misty Ceballos, of Lorain, and Tara Holt, of Amherst; 8 grandchildren; and his brother-in-law Robert Winebrenner.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, in March 2023; and his parents, James and Shirley Chambers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A closing prayer service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
