Marjorie A. Edwards' Obituary
Marjorie A. Edwards (nee Pippert) Edwards, age 97, of Lorain passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Mercy New Life Hospice.
She was born on July 10, 1925 in Amherst, Ohio to George and Augusta (nee Lembke) Pippert. Marjorie was a 1943 graduate of Brownhelm High School where she was the class valedictorian. She went on to further her education at Baldwin Wallace College where she earned, her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
Marjorie made her career as a teacher for 35 years teaching at Clearview and the Elyria Schools. She was a member of the Ohio Education Association, the National Education Association, and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
She grew up on a farm in Brownhelm Township. She enjoyed gardening flowers, bowling, and watching all the Cleveland sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Herbert R. Edwards Jr., of Lorain; daughters, Karen Edwards, of Lorain, and Janet Edwards, of Lorain; and her step-daughter-in-law, Pamela Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Edwards Sr.; parents, George and Augusta Pippert; brother, George Pippert; and daughter-in-law, Mary Edwards (nee Matelski); and stepson, Jeffrey Edwards.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Interment will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery. THE FAMILY IS REQUESTING THAT ALL VISTORS COMING INTO THE FUNERAL HOME, PLEASE WEAR A MASK.
