Martha Ann Teleha's Obituary
Martha Ann Teleha (nee Kordeleski), a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at the age of 86. Born on March 14, 1937, in Lorain, Ohio, she was the daughter of Benjamin & Mary (nee Simo) Kordeleski. In 1970, she moved to Amherst, where she made lasting connections with the community and touched the lives of many.
Martha's academic journey led her to graduate from Lorain High School in the class of 1955A, laying the foundation for her successful career ahead. Her remarkable organizational and people skills made her the perfect fit for various positions throughout her professional life. She worked as a Receptionist at the Audiology Center until her retirement in 1998, where she warmly welcomed and assisted countless individuals, leaving a positive impact on all who crossed her path.
Prior to her time at the Audiology Center, Martha devoted ten years of dedicated service to City Bank, from 1955 to 1965. Following this, she joined Citizens Bank in Amherst, where her friendly demeanor and strong work ethic made her an integral part of the team. Additionally, she contributed her talents to Dr. Linstruth's practice in Amherst, showcasing her commitment to excellence and compassion in caring for others.
Martha was a devout member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Lorain. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength, hope, and a sense of community. She found solace and camaraderie within the church and endeared herself to fellow parishioners with her kind and gentle nature.
Beyond her professional and spiritual pursuits, Martha enjoyed leisure activities that brought her joy and relaxation. She found delight in solving crossword puzzles, challenging her mind with each clue. Her love for mystery movies and game shows kept her entertained, and she shared many laughter-filled moments with her loved ones during these viewing sessions. She also loved traveling with her husband, especially their trips to Alaska and Hawaii.
Above all, Martha valued the time spent with her family. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, her love knew no bounds. Her devotion to her husband, children, and grandchildren was evident in every interaction and gesture. She nurtured a warm and loving home, creating cherished memories that will forever be treasured by her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Charles D., children; Charles, of Vermilion, Gerald (Tracey), of Sylvania, OH, Donald, of Vermilion and Mary (Ryan) Bard, of Sidney, ME, grandchildren; Julia & Gregory Bard, step grandchildren; Liam & Irelynn Corcoran, siblings; Richard Kordeleski, of Lorain, Margaret Shaw, of Edgewater, FL and Karen Simmons, of Amherst as well as her many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Benjamin Kordeleski and a sister, Mary Fischer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, from 2 -4 & 5-7 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A Parastas service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A Panachida will take place on Wednesday, August 2nd, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral center, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, located at 2711 W. 40th Street, Lorain, OH 44053. Reverend Father Andrew Nagrant, Pastor, will officiate services. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
