Mary Spicer's Obituary
Mary H. Spicer (nee Hammond), of Lorain, Ohio passed away Friday, May 31, 2013. She was born on April 21, 1944 in Sandusky, Ohio to William and Anna (nee Landoll) Hammond. She was raised in Huron, Ohio and was a graduate of Huron High School.
She was active for many years with the Lorain Police Auxiliary. She then went on to work as security guard with Spitzer Marine before retiring.
In 1996 she married Thomas Spicer and together they began a new chapter in their life as foster parents to over 10 boys.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Thomas Spicer; daughters, Shawn Dombrowski Jeffrey and Patty Dombrowski Carter; 1 step-son; 1 step-daughter; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 2 sisters; 1 brother; and several nieces and nephews.
The Spicer family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon in the funeral center. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
