Mary Ann Cieslak's Obituary
Mary Ann Cieslak, age 81, of Lorain passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born on May 27, 1935 in Lorain, Ohio to Michael and Rose (nee Santos) DeTillio and graduated from Lorain High School in 1953. Mary Ann made her career in the insurance industry for over 20 years with the Somers Insurance Agency.
Mary Ann was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain, II Century Council, and the Tuesday Card Club, with her longtime friends. She enjoyed playing golf and participated in many golf leagues. An avid fan of the Cleveland Indians she was thrilled to attend a playoff game this fall with her son-in-law. She also made delicious stuffed cabbage, which she just recently made.
She will be greatly missed by her family that she truly adored.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edward; children, Debra (Joseph) Lukasik, of Fairview Park, Paul (Wendy) Cieslak, of Avon Lake, and Michael (Cheryl) Cieslak, of Lorain; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dennis (Sharon) DeTillio, of Vermilion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Rose DeTillio; and her brother, Michael DeTillio.
The Cieslak family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd. at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Private family interment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
