I have many many memories of "Mrs. Bartlome!" Before Lincoln Street went through, there was that secret, rough path we rode our bikes through a million times or so. What an adventure. Often it was over to the home of the Bartlome girls. I knew of her to be a strong, busy Mama, also mothering to HER Mom, who I can still picture sitting in a chair in the living room. It was always a busy, happy home, and Mrs. Bartlome ran a tight ship. Ha. Then later in life, she monitored study halls at MLS. What an awful job that must have been?! No thanks. But she did it, with grace but following the rules. She was always so kind and mothering to those "good kids." Sending many hugs and love to all the Bartlomes.
P.S. I just read Betty Jo K's memories...a Lincoln Street neighbor. So sweet and memorable. And I have many memories of Goldie! She was my Mom's dear friend at Congregational church.

Please know my heart aches for you, Denise. Condolences go out to you and your sisters and family.
I remember your mom driving your Aunt Goldie to my Dad's visitation 6 years ago. That was a sweet gesture.
That is when I Iearned from her that my grandfather was your mother's godfather. A small world. Your mother is finally reunited with your Father and looking down with pride as you honor her wonderful full life she led. You were always such a devoted daughter.
