Matthew "Mojo" Elliott's Obituary
Matthew S. “Mojo” Elliott, age 45, of Elyria, passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria.
He was born on March 17, 1976 in Lorain, but grew up in Vermilion, where he graduated from Vermilion High School in 1995. After high school graduation, he attended Baldwin Wallace College for a few years, eventually joining the Army Reserves. From 2017 until this year he did live in California until finally settling in Elyria. Matthew was an Escrow Officer at Third Federal Bank, in Cleveland, for many years. While living in California, he was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
Matthew enjoyed playing games…video games, role playing games, and was even a fan of various sports. He really enjoyed singing and dancing, especially when he showcased his karaoke skills as well as being a part of the “Soundsation” group in high school.
He is survived by his two daughters, Piper (age 12) & Willow (age 10), of Medina, his mother, Angelina (nee Magdaleno) Elliott, of Lorain, brothers, Floyd F., II (Lisa), of Wakeman, Daniel M., of Lorain, Brian C. (Melissa), of Lorain, and Charles C. F. (Stephanie), of NC, sisters, Debbie A. (Al) Geason, of Sandusky, Cheryl L. (Tim) Isenberg, of IL, Monica R. (Jeff) Wawczak, of IL, and Polly (Brian) Ferry, of Elyria, his former wife, Tara Michaels, of Medina, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Matthew will also be remembered and missed by many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd F. Elliott.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 5 -7 pm at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
