Maureen S. Byrne's Obituary
Maureen S. Byrne, age 68, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Born on June 20, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, Maureen was the first in her family to be born in the United States after her parents and siblings immigrated from Ireland. She was immensely proud of her Irish roots, and Lorain remained her lifelong home, filled with cherished memories and close-knit connections.
Maureen's life was defined by the love and joy she shared with her family and friends. She had a magnetic personality that drew people in, and she was surrounded by a strong network of beloved family members, close friends, and dedicated caregivers who all provided her with loving care throughout her life.
Maureen's favorite moments were spent with her mother, whom she adored, especially when they would go shopping and out to lunch together. Her love for music, dancing, and working on jigsaw puzzles brought her immense happiness. Maureen had a special passion for jewelry and always took pride in keeping her nails perfectly polished, delighting in all things that made her feel uniquely herself.
Her warmth, grace, and joy in life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Maureen’s love of family, friendship, and simple pleasures will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving family and a wide circle of dear friends. May she rest in eternal peace. She is survived by her brothers, Brian (Connie) Byrne, of Amherst and Patrick (Karyn) Byrne, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, her brother-in-law, John Yug, of Westlake (formerly of Lorain) and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick & Maureen (nee Maguire) Byrne, a brother, Kevin Byrne, and her sister, Patricia Yug.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 2:00 pm until the time of her funeral service at 3:00 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
