Max Travis Kennedy's Obituary
Max Travis Kennedy passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2026, at the age of 21.
Max was born on June 9, 2005, to his parents, Matthew Kennedy and Maren Gunter (Udovich). Max grew up in rural Lorain County and graduated from Firelands High School in 2023. He also completed the Welding Program at LCJVS.
Alongside his parents were his stepmother, Charline Kennedy, and stepfather, Michael Gunter, who were privileged to watch him grow and loved him dearly.
Max and his brother, Mason Kennedy, grew up riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, camping, and spending time with family and friends. In 2021 came one of Max’s biggest joys in life—his niece, Lylah, thanks to Mason and Regan Moitoret.
Max worked alongside his father at his welding and fabrication shop, where his presence will be profoundly missed. He enjoyed anything with wheels or a motor, fishing, video games, UFC fights, and spending time with his friends and family. He also had an immense love for animals, especially all of our family dogs. Max was smart, witty, and compassionate.
Max is survived by his parents and stepparents; his brother, Mason Kennedy; his niece, Lylah; his loving grandmothers, Marcia Kennedy and Sharon Udovich; his step-grandparents, Rich and Nancy Cremeans; his Aunt Tiffany Pucko (Greg) and cousins, Claire and Nolan; his Aunt Maegan Kennedy and cousins, Marissa and Margo Post; his stepbrother, Marcus Gunter (Morgan); and his caring stepsister, Alexis Gunter. Fortunately, Max also leaves behind an extensive family of loved ones, too many to list.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vernon Udovich, in 2023, whom he deeply missed, and his grandfather, Marvin Kennedy, in 1997, whom he unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet but always carried with him in spirit.
We are devastated by this loss, and Max will forever remain in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. at New Russia Township Hall, 46300 Butternut Ridge Rd, Oberlin, OH for family and friends to gather, honor his life, and celebrate his spirit.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center. Online condolences may be left for the family at https://www.dovinreberjones.com
