Maxine M. Toth's Obituary
Maxine M. Toth (nee Bartlome), age 91, of Lorain, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
She was born on January 8, 1926 in Amherst, but she lived most of her adult life in Lorain. She was a 1944 graduate of Central High School. Maxine was a member of the First Congregational Church in Amherst, but also attended Hungarian Reformed Church with her husband. She worked at Nelson Stud for many years before retiring.
Maxine enjoyed casino gambling, gardening, working on crafts, especially her loop-latch work, and she not only enjoyed, but was a great cook.
Maxine is survived by her son, Julius, Jr. (Suzanne), of Lorain, her daughter, Shelly (Steven) Ostrolencki, of Amherst, her 5 grandchildren; Steven, Jr. (Caille Taylor) Ostrolencki, Tiffany (Brian) Duke, Heather (Christopher) Russo, Brian (Cindy) Toth, and Kristen Koester, 10 great grandchildren, brothers; Leroy (Kathy) Bartlome, of Milan, and Wayne Bartlome, of Vermilion, and her sisters-in-law; Goldie Bartlome and Mary Bartlome.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Julius A., in 1993, a daughter, Diane Shamine, in 2014, brothers, Russell Bartlome and Norwood, sisters; Elaine Young and Evelyn Bartlome, and her parents; John and Mabel (nee Towne) Bartlome. Maxine was also preceded in death by her beloved cat, “Starlight.”
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 20, from 3 to 6 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services and burial will be private.
