The love I have for Papaw will never fade away.
I will think of him, my special friend

Papaw,
I already miss you so much. I loved watching Animal Planet with you. I will miss making you peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches when we would spend evenings together. It made me happy to help take care of you. Your face would light up when I would come into the room , we would both smile and hug each other tight. I hope you are having lots of fun up in heaven with Peanut, tell him I said hi and I miss him. I Miss and Love you so much. I will see you again someday.

merle ,you were always such a gentleman & so very hospitable .you were truly a pleasure to be around . i remember all the fun times we have had with you & sue in fla . you sure did make a great bean dip too .we will never foget you. i am so very glad that you & sue met & made life better for each other .we will miss your laughter .with love to you .
Merle eventhough we never got to meet you....we have been blessed with so many stories from your children that we feel like we know you so well.....we all look forward to meeting you someday with God...... thank you for all your hard work when serving our country to help make it safe for all of us.....also thank you for fathering your two wonderful children that we know.....Charlie and Tammy are two amazing adults, we cantknow imagine living life without them, and I know you are so proud of them....they are a true reflection of you and for that I know you are an amazing man.....you will always live in everyones hearts through Charlie, Tammy, Michael, and Kelseys stories....... Thank You for being that strong amazing man the talk so highly of.....

I know we hadn't seen each other in a very long time,I still loved you peace and love to all the family.
I wish I could be there to join the family and friends that will be remembering your life at the memorial gathering at the VFW.
One of the things I am happiest about is that your later years were made so much happier because of the love and care of a wonderful woman, Sue. She gave you the love and kindness you deserved. The family has grown to love her over the years, and she is as much a part of our family as you were. I will be thinking of you often, as I always have, and wish I could be there to give Sue my condolences in person and thank her once again for being the reason for your happiness. You deserved to find the love of your life, and I am so happy that you finally did.
Will always remember you with love and a great fondness that I was a part of your life.

Dear Grandpa,
You have always meant so much to me. All the good times we have spent together, ever since i was just a little tiny baby. You have always been one of the most special men i knew and i have looked up to you all my life. I can remember, ever since i was little, we always used to love to play cards together. You used to beat me every time but I've gotten pretty good and I'm sure if you could play me now it might be a little bit of a challenge! I just can't believe how one man can make such a big impact on so many people's lives, it's amazing! I always loved when dad would tell me we were taking a roadtrip to one of your many houses down in Florida or even Georgia. I have just always loved spending time around you. I really can't believe you're gone. I guess it hasn't really hit me yet, i keep thinking that I could come to your house at any time and you would still be right there waiting for me to walk in the door with a big smile on your face and your arms stretched out to give me a hug. That's all i could ask for right now. Even though i miss you so incredibly much, I know that you were only suffering down here and you're now in a much better place. I have prayed for you every night and i will continue to do so. I know God is taking very good care of you, he loves you alot and so do I, I just want you know that i think about you all the time and you will always be in my heart. I love and miss you more than you could ever know. I just pray that you watch over me and don't forget about me down here. Love you big guy!

I love you and miss you. I still can't believe that your gone. I remember all those times we sat around talking about fishing and farming while you watched my mom with that twinkle of love in your eyes. The world was a better place with you in it..you will be greatly missed.
Merle will be missed. He came into my cousin Sue's life when she needed someone the most. It was great to see her smile and laugh again and Merle did that for her. They had a good life together and we were glad to have known Merle. We sure enjoyed talking farming with him since we use to have a dairy farm also. While Merle is gone he will never be forgotten.
