Michael R. Haggard Sr.'s Obituary
Michael R. Haggard Sr., age 78, of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 7, 1943 in Jackson, TN to Paul and Annette Haggard and was a 1960 graduate of Southside High School in Bemis, TN
Michael retired from the Ford Motor Company in 2008 after 44 years of service as a pipefitter and an ERT. He was a member of the U.A.W. #425 and #2000 where he served as a Union Representative and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vermilion.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, softball, golf, and tennis. He coached Little League for many years. He and wife Linda served as foster parents to ten children. Michael loved spending time with his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda (nee Sheppard) Haggard; daughters, Jennie (Richard) Johnston, and Christina (Jimmy) Hall; grandchildren, Alicia, Brian, Paul, Katrina, Kourtney, and Jemaica; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael R. Haggard Jr.; and his father Paul Haggard.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Pastor Gary Dorsey will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
