Michael Leppla's Obituary
Michael Leppla, age 73, of Elyria, OH, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Independence Village, Avon Lake, OH.
He was born on July 28, 1947 in Elida, Ohio, where he lived his entire life until just recently moving to Elyria to be closer to his daughter. He is a 1965 graduate of Elida High School. Mike was employed by Husky Lima Refinery as a refinery operator for 25 years, before retiring in 2009. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Mike enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He was also a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Mike enjoyed working outdoors, especially tending to his garden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila D. (nee McDevitt) Leppla and his daughter, Brooke (Steven) Szczesniuk, of Berea. He is also survived by his beloved “Bella” and “Chalk” as well as his 2 granddogs, “Barkley” and “Lexi”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald W. and Gladys M. (nee Fee) Leppla and his sister, Kay Nartker.
