Michael A. Tursivio's Obituary
Michael A. Tursivio, age 59, of Lorain, passed away at his home, with his wife by his side, on Saturday, November 16, 2019. He was under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Mike was born on January 17, 1960 in Boston, MA. He then lived in New Jersey for a brief time before moving to Lorain, where he lived most of his life. He is a 1978 graduate of Lorain High School.
He most recently worked for Elyria Concrete Incorporated as a yardman, since 2003. He also enjoyed doing work on the side with ceramic tiles and flooring. Mike was a true architect and builder by nature. Building things were always a fascination and hobby for him and he was also a great interior decorator. When he wasn’t building things, especially for his home, he was an avid darter. He was even on a dart team that ended up making it to Las Vegas. He enjoyed playing Softball for the United Polish Club team and was also a good corn hole player, winning a trophy from the U.P.C. corn-hole tournament. Gambling was another hobby of his, as well as going to the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers games. And even though he never made it to a game, he still enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. At heart, he would always remain a Miami Dolphins fan and always looked forward to going on vacation to his favorite destination – Key West, Florida.
Mike leaves behind his wife, Donna J. (nee Matelski), his children; Michael A. Tursivio, Jr., Brittany Tursivio, Matthew Tursivio, Anthony Tursivio, Kevin Tursivio, and Sydney Johnson, step-daughters; Julie (Neal) Dietrich and Jennifer Rogers, his grandchildren; Desiree Tursivio, Kalen Tursivio, Alanis Tursivio, Lana Dietrich, Logan Dietrich, and another grandchild on their way, and his siblings; Ray Wilson, Gina Long, and Annette Meyers.
He was preceded in death by his daughters; Heather Tursivio and Muriel Tursivio, his parents; Frank and Janet Momit, and a brother, Artie Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 20th, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. His funeral service will be on Thursday, also in the funeral center, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
