Mildred T. Komar's Obituary
Mildred T. Komar (nee Jachym), 94, passed away peacefully "going home" to her eternal rest on November 23, 2022. She was born in Lorain, OH where she resided her entire life. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by anyone who knew her. She led an active and healthy lifestyle. She stayed active by walking a mile every day with her neighbors and saying "hello" to everyone she met along the way. She enjoyed her weekly exercise group, a round of golf belonging to a league and swimming at the "Y". She enjoyed cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Cleveland Guardians and favorite college football team, The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Mildred was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her children; Cynthia (Dennis) Smith, Sandy (Scott) Jenkins, Tom Komar, and Jane Smith;and sisters, Honey Knight, Jeanette Young, and Stella Paysor. She is also survived by her beloved 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stephen Komar; twin daughters, Deborah Grasso & Dennise Sosinski; parents, Frank & Mary (nee Korabik) Jachym; and brothers, Edward Jachym, John Jachym and Walter Jachym.
A private family service was held. The Mass of Christian burial was held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lorain, OH, with the Rev. Fr.Craig Hovanec officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Our family is very grateful to the staff of Mercy Health New Life Hospice for their exceptional care & compassion.
