Miliani "Millie" Perkins' Obituary
Miliani “Millie” Perkins entered into eternal life on May 14, 2016. She was born on November 28, 1920 in Laconia, New Hampshire. At an early age she worked in the hosiery mills of Laconia. She met her husband Wentworth while he was working on a dam project in Franklin, New Hampshire. They were married in 1943 and settled in Portsmouth, NH and it was there she worked for Hallmark greeting cards in Portsmouth while her husband was employed at National Gypsum in Lorain. Her stewardship at St. Peter’s in Lorain started in 1966 where she was the librarian for 25 years. She was known as the persistent volunteer and continued service up until 2014. She worked as money changer at the annual parish festival, bookstore and any odd jobs that needed to be done. Her greatest memory was that of the children whose lives she touched. Everyone knew Mrs. Perkins and until this day, the family will run into people that share their memories of the kind and helpful person that Millie portrayed.
Millie is survived by her 3 sons, Rodney (Margaret ) Perkins, Richard Perkins (Mary Jo DiGiandomenico) and Robert Perkins; grandchildren, Kristen, Holly, Tom, Laura, Rosa, Destiny and Angel; nieces, nephews; caregiver, Tina Bodnar; and her hospice caregiver, Toni Kackludis.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Wentworth in 1984; her parents, Frank and Lena Novak; brothers, Bennie Novak, Adam Novak, and Eddie Bourgeois.
